  • My net income is about 30k€ a year. I took quite a pay cut going self-employed few years back so I’m barely making ends meet right now but I’m also working less and I’m much more satisfied with what I do. It’s likely that my job prospects will only improve from here so I’ll probably be doing better in few years.

I don’t really consider myself wealthy nor poor. My income isn’t that high but I have decent amount of savings and investments so I don’t really need to stress about finances. I do, but I don’t need to.

  • I like all kinds of tech, gadgets, tools and machinery. Cars are just one part of that. I’d like to have an excavator too if I could afford one and justify buing it, but I don’t. Car however, I have need for so why not go and buy one that you actually enjoy driving and looking at rather than something that just gets the job done. I don’t really spend a huge amount of money on it. My truck cost me 10k€ and the maintenance + fuel + insurance costs for the 7 years I’ve had it are around 350€/month. I can imagine myself spending more on offroad mods and such but I just have no need for that currently.

  • I actually get mildly irritated when people do that. If we’re just chatting and I start wondering aloud about some trivial event or person, and the other person immediately pulls out their phone to Google it, I find it a bit annoying. It’s almost never anything that important. Let’s at least dig into our memories for a bit and bounce around guesses before looking it up. I’m just chatting - no need to “call a friend” to find out which movie had Denzel Washington in it.
