Besides my time in the army, not really, no. But being in an all-male infantry section of the French Army did remind me a lot of my Jesuit boys-only highschool days! 😅
Trying my hardest to be civil in this uncivilised world.

Fuck no, lol, what?
Also, how do people bully someone for not being (or being) circumcised? And why are the WASPs and other displaced Western Europeans in the US so concerned with this Abrahamic rite in the first place? America really is stranger than fiction.
Just because the global dominant culture at the moment is profoundly confused and emotionally unstable doesn’t mean that humanity at large is not up to the challenge of consciousness and free will. 💪
Take pride in your resilience!
That was me back in my teenage ‘Yahoo answers’ days… I’d like to believe I’ve become more agreeable as I’ve grown older, lol.
In almost all cases it’s bizarre and concerning… but if you’re the Grim Reaper maybe this natural emotional barrier could help you better fulfil your role!
Western governments (America primarily) use Israel as a geopolitical tool in the region so of course they’ll “do nothing to stop them”. 🙃😔
You think you can just go against decades of propaganda that built their worldview and to which they attach themselves like lifeboats in the raging sea so easily?
The problem I see often is moral “flexibility”, and even on Lemmy I see an objectively morally wrong action being praised because it’s done by people “on our side”/“who are European as me” and those same users will condemn the same behaviour (usually not even as egregious too, lol) coming from “the other side”. Westerners are often too propagandized for us to have productive, informative discussions, and too weak and morally confused to admit they’re wrong/X action is simply not good regardless of who’s doing it.
The immaculate conception is one of the least interesting and relevant parts of what made Jesus “big J, the wandering prophet, the soul healer”. He embodied a revitalisation and vindication of monotheistic righteousness and the idea of objective moral truths. He was so wise he was compared to Solomon, and if you believe the stories that recount how he was challenging the status quo by treating women “normally”, not condemning folks when nobody is perfect (he was very much against all forms of empty virtue signalling), being a “servant leader”, and just waking the Jews of the time from their moral slumber, it’s easy to see why.
Only those who worship Jesus (when he didn’t even like being called “good”!) instead of worshiping God and following Jesus would think the immaculate conception is that big of a deal. Whether he had 1, 2 or 20 parents, what he said and did stand by themselves and are as relevant today as they were yesterday.
Israel relies entirely on American and overall Western money and they’re more like a rabid dog on a leash than a state… in the past, there would be more spin around the fact that the American administration uses Israel to wage proxy wars, destabilise and impose themselves in the area but there is no need for masks anymore so it’s all just obvious now. 🤷
Hey now, America, just like Israel, is a Franco-British creation (with a lot of Germanic folks and culture in them as well). You wanna blame anyone, blame them!
Only propaganda kept the image of the US alive, and their sole position as THE military superpower meant everyone had to just take the long shaft of American intervention, either the easy way or the hard way, but it ain’t the early 00s anymore. Also, American culture has progressively lost its mask (and social media like TikTok just tore it off, basically), so the ugliness of imperialism and the disgusting selfishness mixed with post-relativist amorality just destroyed any “face” the US had. 🤷
3 kids AND 3 dogs?! Lady, you’re already living life in (most likely self imposed) hard mode!
Because “f u, I got mine” (and the other side of the coin too: “if I got fugged, so will you”) is the one true creed in American society, and everyone that opposes it is a heretic/commie.
There are also marked biological changes that affect behaviour though, like the development of the prefrontal cortex, but I agree: it’s a matter of personal responsibility and not everyone gets there, sadly.
