I’m not a parent but I think in general unnecessary cosmetic surgery should be left up to the individual especially when it is related to genitals. I understand wanting to help them conform to norms to try to give them an easier life and there are some surgeries I think make sense like a cleft palate or an infant with burns, but if it’s not necessary you’re taking away their bodily autonomy and I think that’s a very important line morally. You need to determine if you think it’s necessary or unnecessary, and if the discomfort of a possible later in life surgery pushed it past the moral boundary or not.

The administration has 3 legal options:

1. Compromise with dems on not making working class Americans already shitty and expensive healthcare worse

3. Shut down the government

Republicans will choose #3 10/10 because they can’t actually make the government work via compromise it would undermine all their fascist rhetoric, and they won’t let go of their obstructionist tools they and dems use to fuck over the working class.

They can lower it back to 51 like before the no-show filibuster rules and keep it at 51, but that takes away a major tool used for corruption and obstruction. Or they can just not cause people’s insurance premiums to skyrocket next year.

The majority on this vote is also not the whole story. A reason that R needs a larger majority is because of the filibuster rules allowing D to block the vote. R currently has enough power to remover the filibuster rules and force a vote they can win on majority. But both parties rely on filibuster for decades to block legislation without having to justify their reasons.
