MAHA? I can guess what the H is, but I haven’t engineered that one before.

Huh, I had no memory of him being in The Martian. To me he’ll always be Troy. With a backup of Childish Gambino because I showed this clip to a friend:

And the friend said he resembled the musician, which is how I found out that actor also has a rap career.
Anyway, thanks for bringing this to my attention!
I understand that such people exist, but I don’t understand the inclination to take these actions.
My dad, now passed, once said “I’m glad I won’t have to live in the world you kids are growing up in” (or approximately those words). He was primarily referring to privacy and rights, which I think were being directed by Bush at that time.
I was young and privileged enough that I had noticed a few worrying governmental trends but didn’t really feel myself affected, nor did I have much concern about the future. I now feel his words more impactfully.
(I know some of the prevailing sentiments on lemmy; I worry about our collective future but don’t resent my dad for his part in bringing me into this world. He was a good dad who provided me with a good life and set me up to continue that after he was gone and, even if that weren’t true, he couldn’t have predicted the world we’re in today.)
When I was a teenager, I could and did dislocate my shoulder. Now I have arthritis in that shoulder. Practice caution.
I’ve also dislocated the other shoulder a bunch of times, but those weren’t voluntary.
Oh, those weren’t my hands.
(Also, I haven’t thought about CUPS in forever and this made me laugh. Thank you!)
I wanna CUP.
Not much.
There’s a bathroom on the right.
Okay, but how humble are you?
All of my skills and knowledge focus on the things that draw most lemmy users here and the ones who stand out from the norm have frequently proven themselves to be smarter than I in various ways, so … Not much.
Depressing endings are so rare in movies that I, personally, often enjoy them for the novelty if nothing else.
I don’t remember much of that movie, but an Aliens / Evil Dead crossover sounds like a lot of fun.
A while back, I got one of those ladles that separates out the theoretically undesirable fat/oil from soup. We don’t consume a lot of soup, but have occasionally had the opportunity to appreciate the ladle. I’d recommend one, but probably wouldn’t give it as a gift.
edit: At least not a special occasion gift.
Maybe they were talking about consent.
It’s not.
And the owner of Epic, which owns Fortnite, is rabidly anti Linux. I believe he’s made some concessions to lose less of the Deck market share, but he’s made many insulting and untrue statements of Linux and its users in the past as well as actively sabotaging Linux functionality in games that used to have it.
That reminds me of a Dave Barry column I read discussing people who would competitively vacuum up gasoline.
TIL. That’s not what I would have guessed the H was. Thank you for the edification.
