  • I got downvoted so much for saying the same when that air force general quit.

It does no longer matter if the order is illegal, if half the nation is rotten. There can be an order to kill civilians and it has to be obeyed. You got a family to take care of and under Trump rule, said family can suddenly become terrorists if you refuse to bomb California or NYC or something. Which you won’t be able to do anything about when you’re in military jail.

Most people’s opinion was that you should directly disobey the dictator and just let whatever happen to your family, happen.

Nothing lives in cities naturally. Cities themselves just aren’t natural.

Where I come from, outdoors cats really don’t have a particularly long shelf life in cities and towns. Either they get hit by a car, or they wander to the forest and find something stronger than them

    Invasive where?

Everyone keeps saying they’re invasive, but like… They’ve been around for thousands of years and were around before we started domesticating them (or they started domesticating us, I guess).

And yes, they kill birds, but then other wild animals also kill other animals.

And yes I realize you’re on .ca so probably Canadian, but my point is, everyone seems to assume everyone on the Internet is North American. Plenty of us live in Europe, where cats are sort of a naturally occurring phenomenon.

  • They’re really not, but not everyone needs them.

If you’re bordering type 2 diabetes and carbs just make your blood sugar shoot up and crash down, reducing or eliminating carbs can get your shit back in check without medication, and make it much easier to reduce your calories (since you don’t feel compelled to stuff your face again because of shaky hands)

  • The entire thing is fake sadly, however, I’d totally do that with my child if I felt the need to put parental controls on their devices. For now, though, it’s not even an issue (too young for any smart devices) and idk, I grew up without parental controls and I’m fine - I’d say everyone needs to play Runescape and get scammed of their most valuable belongings, it makes skepticism come more naturally.

I’d just recommend Pop!_OS then. NVidia drivers can come preinstalled if you need them (not that it’s super hard to install on Ubuntu) and no Snap bullshit - anything you install via apt uses a deb, instead of sneakily installing a snap. Flatpak still remains an option and you CAN install snaps if you want to. COSMIC as it is now, is GNOME reconfigured a bit to be a bit keyboard-friendlier and will soon be replaced by COSMIC the brand new desktop environment. Otherwise it’s fairly similar to Ubuntu.

Also, Kubuntu or Mint are Ubuntu with an UI that is more familiar to someone coming from Windows. They work more or less the same.
