Gonna install CachyOS tomorrow.
I know I’m late but …
It took me a while to backup all my game saves and memes from Windows 10 because Proton Drive limits you to 2GB unless you pay and if you don’t pay your subscription they delete your email address. Could’ve gone with another provider but I was due for a spring cleaning anyway.
I was also trying to get through my Itch library to save me the hassle of figuring out how to work Lutris but then the Steam Next Fest came and I gave up on clearing my backlog since I have a hard deadline of the next Steam Hardware Survey.

I’ve never dated before, but I don’t think “going somewhere” is essential in a relationship. Sure it’s one of the standard milestones but it being standard doesn’t mean it’s mandatory.
However, your concern that she seems to be putting her gaming ahead of your relationship is legitimate. You should talk to her about those concerns, being sure to communicate your feelings clearly without bringing any bottled up emotions to the conversation. Maybe you can find a compromise that works, maybe she has a gaming addiction and needs support, maybe the relationship won’t work out, as an internet person I can’t really know the outcome.
Doesn’t ClamAV only check for Windows viruses that are passing through a Linux server?
you carry the fate of us all, little one
Same system. Just because it’s more moral on the backend doesn’t mean it escapes the concept of twitter arguments and filter bubbles.
More maintainers should charge for iso’s. Nobody’s gonna compile them themselves or trust “pirated” iso’s. It’s a real genius move from Zorin.
Now the KDE Discover store on Kubuntu needs to let me say no when an app asks for “Full Access: Can Access Everything on your System”. It’s a bloody text editor, what access could it possibly need.
I still have no idea what secure-boot really does and this was me turning the metaphorical secure-boot dial while checking the crowd to see whether they start gasping in horror.
But secure-boot is so tedious to deal with.
People don’t vote based on words, they vote based on their subjective experience and vibes.
Twitter/Bluesky/Threads/Mastodon
Twitter and it’s imitations have taught us quote-dunking, by extension the idea that online debates are productive, and the idea that nuance is a waste of words. Outside of that it’s just algorithmic curation in general that’s damaging so all the other sites are equal.
Kilmar Abrego Garcia, or Greta Thunberg.
I’m not saying Maduro is to blame, but regardless when people feel less well-off it’d take a miracle (or fraud) to win an election.
I think even one innocent person being executed makes it all not worth it. Though that may be clouded by the facts, it doesn’t deter crime and it costs more than life imprisonment.
In a perfect world, I think the death penalty could have a deterrence effect for white collar crime. I’d support the death penalty in that case. The line I draw where the death penalty is deserved is when someone systematically makes the world a worse place. Even serial killers don’t reach that threshold for me.
There’s no world where we can do that without ever executing an innocent person though. So I am firmly against the death penalty.
I should dabble with it at some point. No idea when though.
I’ve been using Kubuntu on my laptop for a while now, and I’m changing my AMD desktop to Linux. So a lot of this doesn’t apply. I think I’ll go with CachyOS because the performance boost on my … not quite a potato but not avocado either, is not worth passing up all else being equal.
I checked the Steam Hardware Survey and CachyOS is the most popular distro on my list so as the sheeple I am I’m probably gonna go with CachyOS now. Probably gotta look up how to configure it properly first though.
I know I have other options, Google Drive for example, I just didn’t want to use anything new so I did things the hard way.
