Oh look it’s Cortana 2
I never said it didn’t? My original comment was referring to the Ally X’s lack of touchpads.
Touchpads, not touchscreens.
My bad, I suppose Trackpad is the more commonly used term.
My guess would be that it shipped from the factory with a “correct enough” time for the system to not care.
Had it shipped with a dead CMOS battery, the date would have been reset to 1970 or something, then it would complain.
Thanks for the new wallpaper!
Not to mention the Gamepass price increase just before the launch lul
NO ❌ TOUCHPAD NO 🙅 BUY 💸
Other point the maintainers raised is the possibility that GenAI code violates the GPL license.
It’s a good concern to have, and one I feel people don’t talk about enough.
Looking a bit further into it, a bug report on the GZDoom GitHub page titled “Project management” was opened that gave a little more detail noting issues with the lead of GZDoom pushing untested code, using an LLM to write code and hiding “not insignificant changes in commits, which has people worried that you’ll randomly rip out features that they rely on”. In reply, the project lead simply said “Feel free to fork the project under a” (yes, that really all they said).
A later comment before the bug report was locked points out the specific change in GZDoom that was made with ChatGPT.
Lately it feels like GenAI is gonna push FOSS projects and its maintainers to the breaking point. So much for this great future every AI vendor promised us 🙄
pretty easy to install (i would argue, even more easy than many mainstream distributions)
Last I poked at it, it had no Live environment. I really how it got so popular if people can’t even try it before wiping their machine. VMs?
This is so sick, thank you!
Tbf the touch typing in the Old Big Picture was better than the current version
Maybe it’d be a new “Windows S Mode” situation.
Got a new cheapo laptop? Enjoy our Secure Windows Home Basic (Linux + Windows DE) and install your apps ONLY from the Windows Store (that we made sure run in the new environment)
Need full Windows? Upgrade to Pro.
The driver/module, “mhypro2.sys,” doesn’t need the target system to have the game installed, and it can operate independently or even embedded in malware, offering the threat actors a powerful vulnerability that can disable security software.
I will never stop highlighting this because it’s just too funny
They don’t, both the Lenovo Legion Go and the AYANEO Kun have a touchpad.
Microsoft must be woefully afraid of alternative input methods. I fully believe this thing wouldn’t even have a Gyro if it wasn’t building off the previous ROG Ally.
RogueJack21.
Basically Slay the Spire meets Black Jack. Very fun, the UI is great and the animations are super smooth.
Skate Story.
Skating game with insanely trippy visuals, great music, runs super smooth even on my aging PC.
FEED MY MECH.
Iron Lung meets the Resource management/Task juggling of FNAF. Descend thousands of feet into an abandoned underground colony in your Mech and retrieve what’s left. Beware your surroundings.
Time Snatcher Handy.
Roguelike bullet hell where you can freeze time at will, but only for 60 seconds. These seconds serve both as your health and currency, so you gotta be really careful with how you utilize it.
If you’re wondering what this is about: The PS4 used to require its internal clock to be correct to play any game, even disc based ones, and the only way to do so is to connect to PSN, meaning that in a distant future when the PSN goes down (or Sony no longer allows PS4s to connect to it) all your games would become useless. And the worst part? They did all of this because of trophies.
Sony has fixed the issue on Update 9.0, but the fact that it was ever an issue and caused by a totally non-essential feature is baffling.
Become ungovernable just like that dude
I do kinda dig the Vision of Windows 8, y’know? Huge focus on Convergence, the unified design language of Metro, Windows Phone’s slick design…
Problem is they didn’t stick the landing at all, threw everything good in the trash with 10, set the trash can on fire with 11.
Call me crazy but I do think Metro was a much more cohesive design motif than the Fluent that Microsoft slapped on right at the end of 10 and still haven’t decided how to handle on 11.
