One of my main uses of Instagram is basically following accounts that post funny tweets and such. Are there any such active accounts on Pixelfed?

How do I search on pixelfed

My main account is on gram. I look at my gram account while logged in on a local, national server. I see only a few of my posts. Same if I search for an account on a local, national server, while logged in on gram. I see fewer of their posts.

I found an option in the official pixelfed app to disable stories, but the application is still pretty buggy so I prefer to use the web PWA.

I am asking because it was possible to import your instagram archive to pixelfed but recently read that it is not possible anymore.

When I add images to my post, they sometimes don’t appear in the mobile app on Android. I only see them when I edit the post. It probably has something to do with the size of the image. If I load smaller versions into a post, they are easily loaded. My tests included images in JPG format with a resolution of 6542x4365. File size at about 15MB. I assumed that the images would be automatically reduced before uploading and that EXIF data would be automatically removed. Obviously, this is not so. I was able to download the images in the browser. All Exif data was included, the file was also identical in size.

I am still getting a new pixelfed instance up and I don’t see anything like a feed relay like what mastodon has to pull in things on the server.

I can’t change my profile picture on gram.social, the account linked to my mastodon account. has anyone experienced the same thing? I have another account on the same instance which isn’t registered/linked with any mastodon account (registered via email) and I can change the profile picture.

When creating a post, how do you tag users who are on different instances? For example, I’m creating a post on pixelfed.ca and I want to tag someone on pxlfd.ca. The tagging menu seems to only show users in the local instance. In the comments section, I have no problems mentioning users in other instances.

Instead of Instagram I would like to embed my #Pixelfed profile in my website. This works so far. The goal is to display the latest 6 posts. But I searched a very long time for how to limit the displayed posts in the embedded iframe. Or - if possible - change the size of the images. Are the any setting or is there any documentation to this?

Last couple of days when I go to look at my notifications, the app crahes out. As in it closes and then I get a crash notification. Doesn’t happen when I go to the desktop site.

Pixelfed.social and .de Tried with Pixelfed app and Impressia but they use Safari anyways iOS 18.3.1

I archived some photos from my profile, and I can’t find them anywhere. Went through the UI, no clue whatsoever. Where is it stored? Anyone have an idea ?

Pixelfed app gives an error about the server not being compatible. Web just returns a blank page. Anyone else? Same with other servers?

I’ve started to get into Pixelfed these past 2 weeks but one thing I don’t quite understand yet, is what content is getting federated and what isn’t. Under “Discover” I can see some trending posts from other instances but most are from the one I’m on and most have barely any interactions in terms of comments etc. I’m a bit surprised, as it’s supposedly bigger than Lemmy now but I can see much less content and interactions than on Lemmy. So am I actually getting all the content from instances my instance is federated with, or is it maybe just the specific accounts being followed by members of my instance? And are interactions like hearts getting federated or are they just local?

When i post a comment and someone like it. I get a notifications saying that someone liked my post and when click on it, it is just the comment i wrote. I have to always click view post to see the context of my comment

I made an account on gram.social where I want to share stuff from my band to divert some traffic off of Instagram.

I’ve tried two emails to register on pixelfed.art. I picked this because it’s a smaller instance and I will generally be posting just art. Has anyone else had issues being accepted to a smaller instance? They seem to do it manually and it’s been two weeks.

A couple of days ago i registered my moniker Sepix on Pixelfed.de with its own Mailadress. A short while after i noticed i could also log in through Mastodon which i prefer because i mostly post pictures through Mastodon anyways.

Hey! I’m trying to log in to pixeldroid via pixelfed.social but I keep getting “Web server is returning an unknown error” immediately after entering the instance domain. Tried searching around but found no other reports of this. And the website itself works fine in my browser.

I don’t what to join an already overburdened instance, which one do ya’ll recommend?

I’ve finally got access to my account but I can’t figure out how to view or upload anything when I look at the videos tab all it says is This feature has not been enabled for your account yet.

Is over a week normal? I get that Loops may be taking a lot of admin bandwidth, but I still haven’t heard anything back.

Can anyone give me instructions on exporting photos from one Pixelfed instance and importing them into another? I’m looking to pull together photos from an instance I used when starting on my Fedivers journey.
