Today, Tuesday, 18.11.2025, coincides with the martyrdom anniversary of my father, the martyr Shadi Jamal Al-Sharif, who passed away in the prime of his youth, leaving behind a good legacy that everyone testifies to.

Seventeen years later, my beloved grandfather, the martyr Jamal Al-Sharif (Abu Shadi), joined him—the man whom people knew for his good character, love, generosity, and excellent upbringing of his sons and grandchildren. Then, this year, my uncle, the martyr journalist Anas Jamal Al-Sharif, joined them, completing our constellation that we take pride in.

Yes... we grieve and weep, but we are proud of this legacy of honor, and we rejoice that the sons of our family have ascended as martyrs and offered themselves seeking the face of God, leaving us a legacy that honors us as long as we live.

As for my grandmother, Hajjah Um Shadi, the patient and resigned one, she is the blessing of this family and her prayers that continue to steady our hearts. She lost her husband, her two sons, and her only two brothers, yet she remained an example of patience and contentment. I asked my Lord to grant her patience in their parting, and to grant me some of her patience, making her a complete school in steadfastness.

So, O God, to You be praise and thanks for what You have taken and what You have given,

Make their memory a light, our patience upon them steadfastness, and preserve for us what remains of our family.
